Dr. Albert Butare
CEO, Africa Energy Services Group Ltd and Former Minister of Energy, Rwanda

Dr Albert Butare, a former Minister of State for Infrastructure in the Republic of Rwanda, has over twenty years of energy, water, and communication experience in Africa. Skilled in high level public sector policy and project development and implementation, engineering, social and economic development. Education background includes a PhD in energy policy formulation, tools and instruments for effective implementation. Post his Ministerial engagement, Dr Butare has been assisting a number of Institutions including the World Bank, European Union Commission, African Development Bank as well as a number of private companies and organizations on infrastructure related aspects. He participated in the launch of the SE4ALL initiative in Vienna in 2010 and from there on he has continued to be part of the progress AEEP has been registering. Dr. Butare was a Co-Chair of the Bonn led Nexus process all through to Rio where he participated in a number of dialogues as a nexus advocate. Dr Butare is currently a CEO of Africa Energy Services Group Ltd based in Kigali, Rwanda with a branch in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.
